Awakening Into Unity, the Complete Global Awakening Series Reader by Lee Temple
How did you know you wanted to be an author? For me it has to do with having an unquenchable urge to express myself, to say things about certain topics that I deeply feel need to be said.
What is your advice for aspiring authors? Listen to your inner promptings. Write things down as soon as they come to you, because if you wait, sometimes the inspiration is gone, never to return. Read many other authors, not only in your chosen field or genre, but in any others that pique your interest. Consume books, magazines and articles like a sponge! Discover what you want to do. Find the people, places and things that can help you achieve your goals and dreams. Stick to them through thick and thin. Ask the higher powers for help when the going gets rough. Finish what you start, as best you can.
Do you have any writing rituals or practices?Yes, many! First, I always do my writing in the morning, after breakfast (this is when my mind, and perhaps everyone’s, is the most clear). I work from a previously developed general outline, instead of wandering about looking for inspiration. Many other times during the day and even in the middle of the night, inspirations will come to me about the various topics that are being written about at the time. I always have some notepaper handy, to write down these inspirations. Often times, when taken together, the content in these note pages forms an entire section or body of thought about a particular topic. I weave it into the narrative as best I can, and move on. When I’m stuck, I go out into nature, and/or do editing and other tidying-up activities, so as to still make good use of the time.
What message to you want readers to remember? In unity we stand! In spite of the denial all around us, climate change remains the most crucial threat to life on Earth today. If you don’t believe me, just ask the residents of Puerto Rico or the fire victims of California, in 2017. One day, they were living a peaceful, productive life. The next, they were homeless refugees, stripped of all aspects of normal life, and forced to fight for survival. The central message of my book is uniting to heal our world. In this undertaking, no one way is the right way. The only right way is what works best for you, whether you are an individual, a family of nations, or anything in between. My motto in this work is this: Every Effort Matters. Everybody Counts!
