Book Title: First Job Savvy- Find a Job, Start Your Career
How did you know you wanted to be an author? Since I could read, I wrote stories. It was just what I did. My imagination talks to me every day, and I have to share the best of that.
What is your advice for aspiring authors? If you had to do it again, what would you have done differently? Write, write, write. You only get good if you do a lot of it. Write anything – it all counts in improving your writing, when you take it seriously. And get feedback. We’re writing for others; we need to listen to people if we want our stuff to sell.
Do you have any writing rituals or practices? Always have paper around (unless you like the tiny keys on your phone). Write everywhere. When a doctor keeps you waiting, on public transportation…everywhere.
What message do you want readers to remember? You can get a great job and start your career, but you have to do it right. Networking is key, but you also have to have a clear vision of what you do best and what you love.
