Author Showcase Feature with Book Excellence Award Finalist Diane Brandow

Book Title: Rainstorm

How did you know you wanted to be an author? I didn’t. I merely told a friend that I’d known for a long time, about a story I kept dreaming in my head when I lived in California. She said, “write it.” I said, “I’m not an author. I’m a songwriter.” She said “try.” So I sat at my computer and it stared back at me. I finally had to go into songwriting mode to get started. I wrote my first book which took me 3 years, then Rainstorm was written. I truly love this story.

What is your advice for aspiring authors? If you had to do it again, what would you have done differently? Don’t give up it it’s truly what you want. My favorite saying that I wrote is “Life’s a chance…Take it”

Do you have any writing rituals or practices? None.

What message do you want readers to remember? My favorite saying.
