Book Title: The Magic of Murder

How did you know you wanted to be an author? I’ve always written. As a young child, I’d scribble stories that placed me in a TV show I’d watched. In high school and college I was a songwriter (even had a few recorded). Now and older adult, and after years of working with a writers group, I’ve at last found a voice and characters that allow me to be myself.

What is your advice for aspiring authors? If you had to do it again, what would you have done differently? Read. Read constantly. Reader everything. Then buy a journal, and fill it with all you see and hear. Do this, and stories will flow. Most important. write first for yourself, and don worry about pleasing others. That will come in time..

Do you have any writing rituals or practices? As I advise aspiring writers, I carry my journal with me everywhere. Several of my best stories took form while I sat in airport waiting areas. Beyond this, for me, the most important practice has been to set aside time each day to write.

What message do you want readers to remember?  Writing is a passion. It’s what i want to do when I wake up; it’s want I want to do when I go to sleep.
