Book Title: This Book Cooks: Farm-Fresh Traditional Recipes for Healthy Contemporary Cooking
How did you know you wanted to be an author? My subjects are food and food inspires me, so it’s easy to be inspired to write about what you’re passionate about.
What is your advice for aspiring authors? If you had to do it again, what would you have done differently? My advice is to go ahead and write and don’t let anyone tell you otherwise. But if you are going to take your work a step further, i.e., getting it published, first share it with as many people as you think will give you the kind of feedback a agent or editor would give you so that you are prepared if you want to get your work published. Always, always, always, get your work edited and proofread.
Do you have any writing rituals or practices? Because I’m a cookbook author, my days are spent developing innovative food combinations. Once I’ve created the combination and turned it into a recipe and its been taste-tested and approved, then I must be diligent in putting my creation on paper. It’s not the sort of thing that I can return to, I must write it while it is fresh in my mind.
What message do you want readers to remember? Be yourself, no one else is better qualified. Do what you love, follow your passion, it will come through in your work.
