About the Awards

What are the Book Excellence Awards?

Founded by Literary Excellence Incorporated, the Book Excellence Awards recognizes authors from all backgrounds and genres, providing them with the opportunity to celebrate their achievements in releasing their book. Receiving a Book Excellence Award is a tremendous honor that represents the hard work, dedication and commitment that went into creating a book. Books that have received a Book Excellence Award have been recognized for their high quality design, writing and overall market appeal.

Who is involved in the Book Excellence awards?

The awards were started by executives at Literary Excellence Incorporated  who have valuable experience in the publishing industry. They specialize in book promotion, marketing and publicity. What distinguishes the Book Excellence Awards from other book awards is the desire to help authors market and publicize their books. Both winners and finalists receive opportunities to promote their work.

Why should I enter the Book Excellence Awards?

The Book Excellence Awards offer many benefits including:

I forgot to include my submission form in my mail-in application.

No problem. Please send an e-mail to: bookexcellenceawards2017@gmail.com, notifying us that you have forgot to include your form. We will print out a copy to include in your application for you.

How can I speak to someone?

Entering the Awards

Who is eligible to apply?

We accept entries from authors that have written and/or published a book and/or from publishers on behalf of their authors. All books submitted to the Book Excellence Awards must meet the following guidelines: (1) Have an ISBN, (2) Be written in English.

We accept print books, e-books and audio books. Galley copies are welcome as well. Please note: Once a book is submitted to the Book Excellence Awards, it will not be returned.

How much does it cost to enter?

The entry fee for one category is $99.00 USD. Each additional category is $49.00 USD. To receive a discount on your entry fee, subscribe to our e-mail list. Authors are eligible to enter in up to four categories per title. Entry fees are payable by check, money order or online via PayPal. Please note: No late entries will be returned or refunded.

Where should I send my entry?

Will I receive confirmation that my books have been received?

After submitting your online application, you will receive a summary of the information you have submitted. Please print this and save a copy for your records. This is your confirmation that your entry has been received successfully.

If you choose to submit your application by mail, you will receive an email from a member of our team notifying you that we have received it at our office.

What is the judging criteria?

Books are judged based on:
1) Design and layout
2) Quality of writing
3) Overall appeal of book to target audience

What should I include in my entry?

How do I send in my entry?

Submission packages can be mailed via standard mail (ex. Canada Post, USPS) or by courier. The following courier methods will be accepted: UPS Worldwide Express Plus, UPS Worldwide Express, UPS Worldwide Express Saver, and UPS Worldwide Expedited Services or FedEx Express international. We do not accept COD (Cash on Delivery) or postage due packages. If additional fees arise with regards to the shipment of a package, the applicant is responsible for paying any and all of these fees.

Alternatively, to avoid shipping fees, we welcome you to submit your book online as an e-book or audiobook. You can choose to submit your book online through a gifted Amazon eBook or our online submission form. We accept the following file formats: .epub, .mobi, .pdf, .doc, .docx, .mp3.

When is the deadline to apply?

The deadline to apply is June 30th, 2017. Late entries will be automatically entered in the 2018 Book Excellence Awards Competition, if all eligibility requirements have been met. No entries will be refunded.

When will the Winners and Finalists be announced?
Winners and Finalists will be announced October 1st, 2017.
